|Orginization : Organized in Lamar County in June 1861. Mustered into Confederate service at Paris on 18 June 1861. It was armed with four guns in August - September 1864. Designated as the 9th Field Battery on 19 November 1864. It was armed with two 3" Parrott Guns and two Light 12 pounder Howitzers; model 1857 in May 1865. Surrendered by General E.K. Smith, Commanding Trans Mississippi Department , on 26 May 1865.
